Paris Street; Rainy Day was painted by French artist Gustave Caillebotte in 1877 and is one of his best-known works. The scene captures pedestrians crossing a broad Parisian intersection beneath umbrellas, surrounded by the newly built streets and architecture that transformed the city during the 19th century.
