About Us

Comfort means something different to everyone. We know because it doesn't even mean the same thing to the two of us.

We're Aaron and Krista, the husband-and-wife team behind The Comfort Guild. We're two slightly odd, endlessly curious people with a habit of collecting interests, disappearing down research rabbit holes, and getting way too excited about the things we love.

Krista is the creative side of our partnership—an artist, maker, and chronic collector of hobbies who works in everything from watercolor and sketching to digital art and whatever medium catches her attention next. Aaron comes from a software development background and is the tech-minded problem solver of the two, handling much of the technical, marketing, research, and behind-the-scenes work that keeps the Guild running.

Somewhere between those two worlds, The Comfort Guild was born.

We wanted to build something of our own that reflected the way we actually see people. None of us fits neatly into one little box, and the things that bring us joy usually don't either.

Maybe your version of comfort is curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee. Maybe it's gaming until 2 AM, spending the evening with your dog, discovering an incredible piece of art from 150 years ago, working on your latest hobby, laughing at something a little sarcastic, or wearing your favorite hoodie for the third day in a row.

We think all of those count.

That's why our shop can be a little eclectic. You'll find humor alongside fine art, beautiful pieces from history next to designs inspired by everyday life, and probably a few things that make you wonder, "Who thought of this?"

There's a decent chance the answer is one of us at an unreasonable hour.

Some of our designs begin with Krista's creativity and our own ideas. Others begin with artwork from the past that we fall in love with and want to give a new way to be appreciated. We enjoy researching the history behind those works and finding pieces that still have something to say generations after they were created.

At the heart of all of it is the same idea we started with:

Home should feel like yours.

Not a catalog. Not somebody else's idea of what you're supposed to like. Yours.

The Comfort Guild is our place for the book nerds, gamers, artists, history lovers, dog people, introverts, hobby collectors, curious minds, homebodies, and assorted oddballs who have figured out that the things they love don't necessarily need to match.

If something in our shop makes you laugh, reminds you of something you love, sends you down a rabbit hole, or makes you stop and think, "Yep… that's me," then we've done what we set out to do.

We're building this little Guild together, one idea (and occasional hyperfixation) at a time, and we're incredibly happy you've found your way here.
