A Mild Breeze on a Fine Day (Red Fuji) by Katsushika Hokusai, created around 1831, is one of the most recognizable works from his celebrated Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series. The Japanese woodblock print depicts Mount Fuji glowing reddish-brown in the early morning light, rising above a narrow band of green forest beneath a clear blue sky and drifting clouds. With no human figures in the scene, Hokusai places the mountain itself at the center of the composition, emphasizing its monumental form through bold color and simplified shapes. Also known as South Wind, Clear Sky or Fine Wind, Clear Morning, the work is an iconic example of Edo-period ukiyo-e landscape art.
