Yellowtail, Blowfish, and Plum Branch by Utagawa Hiroshige is featured on this 100% cotton woven blanket, bringing the Edo-period Japanese woodblock print into a richly textured textile format with colorful fringed edges.

The composition is part of Hiroshige's celebrated body of fish prints, commonly associated with Uozukushi, or An Assortment of Fishes. It pairs a large yellowtail and blowfish with a flowering plum branch and incorporates kyōka poetry into the image. Bold blue forms, delicate blossoms, and the spare surrounding space give the work the distinctive balance of natural observation and graphic simplicity found throughout Hiroshige's ukiyo-e prints.
