This 100% cotton woven blanket features Irish artist William Kilburn’s Leontodon Taraxacum (Dandelion), a hand-colored botanical engraving created for William Curtis’s Flora Londinensis in the late 18th century. The plate records the common dandelion from root to flower, with yellow flower heads, a rounded seed head, deeply divided leaves, and smaller studies of the plant’s structure.

Curtis created Flora Londinensis to document plants growing wild in and around London, with Kilburn among the artists who helped turn the project into a richly illustrated work of natural history. Kilburn's dandelion transforms a familiar wildflower into a detailed work of natural history—an elegant example of vintage botanical art with the distinctive character of an antique hand-colored engraving.
