This 100% cotton woven blanket features Digitalis purpurea, commonly known as foxglove, from William Curtis's Flora Londinensis, the 18th-century botanical survey of plants growing in and around London.

The foxglove appears as Plate 48 in Flora Londinensis. Published from 1777 to 1798, Curtis's ambitious work documented local plant life through detailed descriptions and hundreds of hand-colored botanical plates. The foxglove illustration captures the plant's tall flowering stalk, purple bell-shaped blossoms, broad green leaves, and smaller botanical details with the close observational style that made the work both scientifically useful and visually remarkable.

On the blanket, the warm, aged tones of the botanical plate are surrounded by a deep plum border, keeping the foxglove itself at the center of the design. The woven cotton construction adds visible textile texture, while colorful fringed edges finish the piece without distracting from the historical artwork.
