Blackthorn, designed in 1892 by John Henry Dearle, is an intricate botanical pattern from the British Arts and Crafts movement. Dearle, a prominent textile and wallpaper designer of the period, created a richly layered composition inspired by the forms and variety of the natural world. The pattern brings together white blackthorn blossoms with violets, red snake’s head fritillaries, yellow daisies, and dense green foliage.
